Penguin Random House UK is a trailblazing publisher, home to some of the world's most celebrated authors. Our books range from bestselling writers and bold illustrators to big thinkers and political commentators to pioneering entrepreneurs and wellbeing experts. We have seen enormous success with our books being adapted for screen and stage from Beatrix Potter, Dan Brown, Tom Clancy and Harlan Coben’s multiple Netflix series to Richard Osman’s #1 bestseller The Thursday Murder Club being recently optioned by Steven Spielberg.
The media team at Penguin Random House UK represent a wide-ranging list from across the catalogue and strongly believe in the synergy between publishing and dramatic rights – as each fuels the others’ success. Referred to as “TV, film and stage rights”, “dramatisation and documentary rights” or “media rights”, we work to license our works for adaptation into other formats including but not limited to television series, film, theatre production, musical, opera, podcast, radio drama, and song.
Meet the team
Jenna Brown - Head of Media Rights
Appointed by Penguin Random House UK in Spring 2021, Jenna Brown represents media rights across the adult and children’s publishing divisions. With over 7 years experience of working in TV at the BBC and Channel 4, Jenna has an extensive network of contacts across the industry and is an expert in analysing audience behaviour and content trends.
At a time when the demand for creative content has never been higher, Jenna is responsible for finding the best possible partners to develop our authors’ work into film, TV, radio or theatre productions. She sells adaptation rights to producers around the world and currently has projects in development with studios including Netflix, Film4 and HBO Max as well as independent film and TV producers including the makers of Normal People and It’s a Sin.
Keltie Mechalski - Rights Manager
Keltie has been an integral part of the media team since she joined Penguin Random House UK in early 2020. With previous experience at London agencies including Conville & Walsh and Curtis Brown, she manages the majority of stage deals within the company and also works alongside Jenna on film and TV licensing.
Anna On - Media Lawyer
Anna joined PRH UK in March 2021 as lead lawyer for film, television and stage. Having worked at Baker & McKenzie in both Vietnam and London, Anna also brings extensive commercial in-house experience from the BBC in Singapore, Fremantle and most recently, Warner Media, where she has advised on a broad range of deals including distribution, acquisitions and production.
