Square Peg is a boutique commercial and literary non-fiction imprint that celebrates unique books. Our passion is finding and nurturing authors who approach their subject through original storytelling, solutions, design or ideas.
Our publishing mission is to empower and entertain a wide range of audiences and our areas of interest span: narrative & memoir, food & drink, activism & pop culture, nature & wellbeing. Our highlights include: Rukmini Iyer’s 1.5 million-copy-bestselling “Roasting Tin" series, Mohsin Zaidi’s award-winning memoir A Dutiful Boy, The Mixed-Race Experience by Naomi and Natalie Evans, and Stephen Moss’s bird biography series.
Square Peg’s publisher and commissioning editor, Marianne Tatepo, joined Vintage in January 2022. Prior to this she was at Ebury, Penguin General and 4th Estate & William Collins. She’s edited and acquired a wide range of non-fiction, from memoir to popular psychology and social history to comics, and published Sunday Times bestsellers Misfits: A Personal Manifesto by Michaela Coel and Burn After Writing by Sharon Jones. Marianne has worked on books by authors such as: Philippa Perry, Julia Samuel, Dr Rangan Chatterjee, Paula Sutton, Kathryn Mannix, Adam Nicolson, Sharmadean Reid, Dr Olivia Remes, Guilaine Kinouani, Patrick Radden Keefe, Charlotte Mensah and Max Hastings.
