My Incredible Decade in Formula 1

Summary

The unmissable new Sunday Times bestseller about life in elite motorsport, from the Formula 1 sensation and author Surviving To Drive, Guenther Steiner.
With a foreword by Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 CEO Toto Wolff.

Fasten your seatbelts as Formula 1's favourite underdog, Guenther Steiner, takes you on a wild, behind-the-scenes ride through his ten years at Team Haas.

From the first seeds of his idea to establish a new F1 team, to the challenges of funding and building that team from the ground up, Guenther shares the real story of the origins of Team Haas, immersing readers in the highs and lows of its first decade on the grid, and opening up about his departure from the team at the end of 2023.

As Guenther recalls his proudest achievements, as well as the many, many disasters he has faced, he takes readers behind the scenes, into the pit lanes and garages, and out on to the circuits of the world's greatest race tracks.

Told in his inimitable style and packed with hugely entertaining stories, outspoken opinions and unvarnished truths, this is Guenther at his very best – insightful, opinionated and completely unfiltered.

About the author

Guenther Steiner

Guenther Steiner is a motorsport team manager and former mechanic hailing from Merano in northern Italy. From 2014 to the end of 2023 he was the team principal of the Haas Formula One Team, having previously been managing director of Jaguar Racing and technical operations director of its subsequent incarnation, Red Bull Racing. In 2014, Guenther persuaded Gene Haas, owner of Haas Automation and NASCAR championship winning team Stewart-Haas Racing, to enter Formula 1.

With their entry in the 2016 season, Haas became the first American constructor to compete in F1 in 30 years. The team took eight points at the 2016 Australian Grand Prix with a 6th-place finish, becoming the first American entry, and the first constructor overall since Toyota Racing in 2002, to score in their debut race. Steiner is also a prominent figure in the cast of the successful Netflix series Drive to Survive.
