- Launch of the 2018 Jacqueline Wilson Creative Writing Prize
We are delighted to announce the launch of the 2018 Jacqueline Wilson Creative Writing Prize, supported this year by First News, the National Literacy Trust and WH Smith. The prize is open to enter for all children aged 7 - 12, giving one lucky winner the chance to have their story published in an exclusive WH Smith paperback edition of My Mum Tracy Beaker, plus £100 worth of WH Smith vouchers, a year’s subscription to First News, a book bundle for their school library AND the chance to meet Jacky. Plus 500 runners up will also get their names published in the same Jacqueline Wilson novel.
Last year’s prize saw thousands of entries with a fantastic winning story written by 10-year-old Daniel Stockwell from Burbage in Leicestershire – Woof from Antarctica which you can read here. The theme for this year’s competition is Unlikely Friendships inspired by the friendship between Rose and Clover Moon in Jacqueline’s latest novel Rose Rivers.
I'd wanted to find a special friend ever since I came here. However, I never thought I'd find such an amazing one!
The closing date for the prize is noon on 14 September 2018, get writing!
