A paper boat on top of a copy of Paper Boat by Margaret Atwood

How to make a paper boat

In designing the cover for Paper Boat, Margaret Atwood's collection of poems that span a lifetime, Vintage Creative Director Suzanne Dean wanted to marry the boat of the title with the rough seas of the cover. Her solution: to commission paper artist Nathan Ward to design a template for a paper boat that could be cut out from the cover and stuck together.

If you're on this page, chances are you have arrived here from the QR code on your copy of Paper Boat. What follows are video, text and image instructions for how to create your paper boat.
