Join Dolly Alderton, award-winning, bestselling author of Everything I Know About Love, and co-host of The High Low podcast, for this online event to celebrate publication of her debut novel. Dolly will be in conversation with Elizabeth Day, award winning journalist, author and How to Fail podcast host.

Ghosts is the story of Nina Dean, who arrives in her thirties and realises they are not the liberating, uncomplicated experience she was sold. When she meets Max, a beguiling romantic hero who tells her on date one that he's going to marry her, it feels like all is going to plan. But everywhere she turns, she is reminded of time passing and opportunities dwindling. Friendships are fading, ex-boyfriends are moving on and, worse, everyone's moving to the suburbs.

Dolly Alderton's debut novel is funny and tender, and in this event she will talk about what she learnt when writing the novel, which is all about the complexities of relationships, family, memory, and how we live now.

Dolly will be in conversation with Elizabeth Day, discussing the novel and the highs and lows of entering your thirties. You will also have a chance to ask Dolly questions directly during the audience Q&A.

This event is a partnership between Penguin Live and Waterstones.
