Sufiya Ahmed

Sufiya Ahmed was born in India and arrived in the UK as a baby. She lived in Bolton, Lancashire, before moving to London where she still lives. Sufiya has worked in advertising and in the House of Commons, but is now a full-time author. Yvonne Battle-Felton

Yvonne Battle-Felton was born in Pennsylvania and raised in New Jersey. She holds an MA in Writing from Johns Hopkins University and a PhD in Creative Writing from Lancaster University where she is an associate Lecturer. A writer of fiction and creative non-fiction, her writing has been published in riverSedge, Assisi, Not Somewhere Else But Here: A Contemporary Anthology of Women and Place, Welter, Slices, and The Chesapeake Reader Literary Journal. Winner of a Northern Writers Award in fiction (2017), her first novel, Remembered, is the story of an emancipated slave haunted by both the past and the present as she struggles to lead her dying son home. She writes for both adults and children, and she was commended for her children's writing in the Faber Andlyn BAME (FAB) Prize (2017).

Sarwat Chadda

Sarwat Chadda is a Londoner whose writing depicts the world from both East and West. He is published in both MG and YA, and has also written for Scholastic's multi-platform series.
Sarwat Chadda was raised on stories of Saladin, Richard the Lion-Heart and the Crusades, viewed from both sides, and started out writing role-playing game scenarios. He was a senior engineer in a past life, but now writes full time. His YA novels, DEVIL'S KISS and DARK GODDESS, were published in a number of countries and received stellar reviews. His MG novels in the ASH MISTRY AND THE SAVAGE FORTRESS trilogy were published in both the US and UK, and his fantasy trilogy - SHADOW MAGIC, DREAM MAGIC and BURNING MAGIC - publish with Disney-Hyperion under the pseudonym Joshua Khan.
Sarwat has also written for the 39 CLUES and SPIRIT ANIMALS multi-platform series, published by Scholastic, and he has written a number of action-packed texts for graphic-comic publisher Graphic India.

Poonam Mistry is a freelance illustrator living in the UK. Her style incorporates her love of nature and her Indian roots and explores the relationships between pattern, shapes and colour. She loves folklore tales and stories of Hindu Gods and Goddesses and these have been a rich source of inspiration in a number of her illustrations.

Fotini Tikkou (Illustrator)

Fotini Tikkou was born in Athens. She graduated from the Athens School of Fine Arts in 2009 and has been working as an freelance illustrator ever since. She is currently based in Athens where she lives with her partner and daughter.

Fotini's work includes children's books, editorial illustrations, book covers and art licensing projects. Her favourite mediums are gouache, watercolor and colour pencils. She also loves collage and sometimes she combines traditional and digital techniques. Her illustration style ranges from cute to funny and often portrays diversity and body acceptance in her artwork.

Aviel Basil (Illustrator)

Aviel graduated from Shenkar college of design in Tel-Aviv with a Bachelor's degree in graphic design. He currently works and lives in Tel-Aviv.

Since graduating in 2011, Aviel has illustrated more then a dozen children's books, which have been published in Israel. He won a Silver medal of the Israel Museum award for children's book illustration in 2012, for his first book.

He has also illustrated for magazines, advertisement and worked on character and background designs for various apps and animations.

His style is inspired by 50's illustration and he loves to use a bright and colorful palette.

Victoria Sandøy is a freelance illustrator based in Oslo, Norway. She recently graduated with a 1st Class BA (Hons) from Falmouth University. Her work is inspired by her Scandinavian roots and often consists of imagery influenced by nature and folklore.
