  • As usual in January there is a mass of dieting books to help us shed that Christmas excess. My favourite title so far is The Fat Smash Diet by Ian K Smith, which is currently riding high in the Amazon.com chart. It really does claim to smash the fat, as the dieter should start seeing results in just nine days, and there is no calorie-counting - sounds good to me!
