The Penguin Podcast skill for Amazon Alexa

The Penguin Podcast is now available as a free skill for Alexa, Amazon’s chatty cloud-based voice service that puts the smart into smart-speakers such as the Amazon Echo range.

Enable the skill and say “Alexa, open The Penguin Podcast” to listen to an intimate fortnightly conversation with authors and the objects that inspired their books.

Authors include Arundhati Roy, Stephen Fry, Caitlin Moran, Gabourey Sidibe, Johnny Marr and many more. Hosts include Katy Brand, Nihal Arthanayake, David Baddiel, Konnie Huq, Paul Smith and Richard E. Grant – plus a little help from Alexa.

  • New episodes added every 2 weeks
  • Multi-choice menu for earlier episodes
  •  Duration of episodes given before they play
  • Episode information sent to Alexa app
  • Pause and resume episodes
     

You can also open the skill and play a particular episode with a single command.
