Last Friday saw our Ottolenghi Cookbooks Online website named as the Consumer Platform of the Year at this year’s FutureBook Awards. The ceremony, which celebrates companies and individuals who are playing a key role driving innovation within publishing, was held as part of the The Bookseller’s annual FutureBook conference.

Ebury's Ottolenghi Cookbooks platform sees readers who have purchased Yotam Ottolenghi's books being given exclusive access to a new digital platform, providing interactive versions of iconic recipes from the author of SweetNOPI and Jerusalem.

The judges described Ottolenghi Cookbooks Online as “a beautiful and practical platform that compliments the physical book and elegantly solves a genuine problem to drive a new opportunity for writers, readers, and publishers.”

Luthfa Begum, Digital Publishing Manager at Ebury, said: “It’s amazing to win this award for one of Ebury’s favourite authors. The first discussions about how we can connect directly with Ottolenghi’s cookbook fans started over three years ago and Ottolenghi Cookbooks online is the culmination of teams past and present who were always looking to deliver something a bit special, a bit different but always useful.”

This is the second year running that Penguin Random House has won the consumer Platform of the Year award, with Penguin.co.uk taking home the prize last year. This year’s awards also saw five other nominations for Penguin Random House, across four of the seven categories.
